Annette Hanna
My main interests are people and the landscape. Illuminating each person’s personality is a challenge I find irresistible. I also love the outdoors and enjoy plein-air painting. The beauty of the landscape, to me, has a very spiritual quality. “Traditional realist, Annette Adrian Hanna is, thankfully, an expert at the style. She offers realistic character studies in oils and pastels… and shifts gears slightly to turn out a dazzling group of pastel landscapes.” Eileen Watkins, Art Critic, Star Ledger, NJ. “Human face and form, the forte of portraitist Annette Adrian Hanna, are handled in a series of exquisite, moody pastels that are one of the highlights of her exhibits… Hanna includes landscapes that indicate the range of her talent. Marion Filler, Art Critic, Daily Record, NJ. Annette Adrian Hanna is a recipient of five Gold Medals in Painting. In 2007 her work was selected as one of 100 Best Pastels by Pastel Journal magazine. In 2008 her oil painting was chosen as a Christmas card and Calendar page for American Diabetes Association. She has been featured in American Artist, Portrait Highlights, International Artist, The Best of Pastels II, and has authored a book on painting portraits in oil. She is a member of Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, Pastel Society of America, Portrait Society of America, Northwest Pastel Society, American Artists Professional League, and teaches at Morris County Art Association in Morristown, New Jersey.
