As most artists, my eyes are my heart. At first look I fell in love with the view from the ridge overlooking the Musconetcong Valley – Indians had lived in a cave on this hill. Artists followed setting their easels facing the view. They left behind upright paintings in the woods and lost sculpture under the leaves. There’s magic here and mysteries. Spirits join the wild life and constant surprises appear from the tumbling gardens. There is an ever changing landscape such as the geometric juxtaposition of close hue colors in a working moving wheat field below, thousands of winter Snow geese swirling against the far blue hills and the millions of summer lightening bugs in the dark woods. “Yes we’re here” they say. The sun and the moon play dramatic parts. I paint “Moon Gardens”, “Earth Treasures”, “Chants on the hill”, “Spirits from the cave” and on and on. My brush and colors await all the wandering spirits meeting me here in my hidden forest studio. They are willingly captured to the canvas walls – They know they will be safe here.
