As a painter I consider myself a semi-abstract-expressionist. The basic inspiration has always been the natural environment. My visual and emotional reactions are reinvented and become the source for building a painting. In my current work the need to build and reinvent continues. Pieces are created by using discarded materials I find at my disposal. I enjoy knowing that material can be revitalized by my mind and by my hand. Scraps of wood from carpenter friends, paper bags from daily shopping, and whatever else comes my way is the source. In the process I feel connected to the past and to the future. “Objects arranged according to the law of chance” Hans Arp 1916.
